We love Jesus. We love people. And we are passionate about calling the church back to our first love and equipping you to fulfill the Great Commission.
The Weekly Prayer Bible list will help you to pray and allow you to join your heart to others who are also praying through these messages.
READ: "But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire. So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift." (Matthew 5:22-24 /ESV)
PRAYER: Lord, help me not to hold wrong against others, but help me to be quick to ask forgiveness or to forgive. Help me be an agent of reconciliation. Help me to see others with the value that You see in them as your image-bearers. Most of all, help me to be kind today to my family and friends with my words and in my actions. AMEN.
REFLECT & RESPOND: It might sound rather harsh to receive eternal punishment in hell just for calling someone a "fool." Sometimes people act unkind, evil, and foolish. SO why such a harsh penalty? Each person is made in God's image. That means when we lash out at others, in essence we lash out at God Himself--and that is a capital offense. Rather, we should see each other as God's children. We need to be patient and forgiving, willing to reconcile. Is there someone you need to talk with today to settle a past hurt?
