The ancient city of of Colosse was situated on an important trade route, and as a result, new Christians there were exposed to all kinds of foreign and interesting ideas. Ideas that threatened to tear the people away from the clear message of grace preached by Paul.

 

In this verse-by-verse study, we’ll read Paul’s encouragement to the Colossians to remain strong in their faith and to be discerning regarding the ideas of others. Above all we’ll learn the value of living a life that’s noticeably different from that of the surrounding culture.
